Richard Keast

Creative Director

Award-winning garden designer focusing on people and their outdoor spaces.

Following joining the family business in 1991, Richard studied horticulture at Askham Bryan College, and then in his mid-twenties studied Garden design at Bishop Burton College to degree level gaining best student and a Silver Gilt medal at the Harrogate spring flower show whilst studying.

Richard now heads Astek Garden Design & Build based in York, together with director and project manager John and their teams of landscapers they design and implement bespoke gardens throughout Yorkshire.

John Barker

Director & Project Manager

Nothing gets passed John, detail is written in his DNA. Before joining our team, John was building high end gardens in London and Surrey and getting Gold at Tatton park. John oversees everything we build and is also our plantsman, helping you to select the right plants and materials for the job. He coordinates our staff team throughout the process. A lover of tropical fish and rugby to boot (pardon the pun).

Jude Holmes

Accounts

Jude keeps us all together, running the office like a well-oiled machine. An outdoorsy Yorkshire girl, she is an essential part of the team when things need to get done. Everyone should have a Jude in their office. You will probably speak to her first if you pick up the phone.

Maddie Moo

Not quite our longest serving member of staff, but at 15 she keeps us sane and gets us out of the office on the odd occasion.

The York Lifestyle Group
